Thermal & Fluids Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal/Fluids Engineer to join our team, with a focus on designing modular, easily installable energy recovery systems for integration into our HVAC solutions. This role requires expertise in thermal and fluid dynamics, along with a strong background in additive manufacturing techniques, particularly with ceramics and other thermal and moisture-conductive materials. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions that enhance system efficiency and adaptability across diverse applications.
Responsibilities:
  • System Design & Development: Lead the design of modular energy recovery solutions that can be easily installed across various HVAC systems, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and adaptable to different environments.
  • Thermal & Fluid Dynamics Analysis: Perform detailed thermal and fluid analysis to optimize system performance, focusing on heat exchange efficiency, moisture management, and pressure dynamics.
  • Additive Manufacturing Integration: Utilize additive manufacturing techniques, particularly with ceramics and other thermal and moisture-conductive materials, to create innovative components that enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Develop and test prototypes of energy recovery systems, using both traditional and additive manufacturing methods, to validate performance, manufacturability, and ease of installation.
  • Modular Design Focus: Design components with a strong emphasis on modularity, ensuring that systems are not only efficient but also simple to integrate into a wide range of existing and new HVAC installations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams across various disciplines to ensure seamless integration of energy recovery components into broader HVAC and building management systems.
  • Scalability & Manufacturing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are scalable and cost-effective, with a particular focus on leveraging additive manufacturing for rapid production and iteration.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, particularly in terms of energy efficiency, thermal performance, and moisture management.
Expected Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in thermal and fluids engineering, with a focus on HVAC or energy recovery systems.
  • Proficiency in thermal dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, with experience in designing modular systems.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, especially with ceramics and other advanced materials for thermal and moisture conduction.
  • Proficient in simulation and modeling software (e.g., CFD tools, thermal analysis software).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to energy efficiency and moisture control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation in modular system design.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
